Piperacillin 1gm+ Tazobactam 125gm
Introduction
Pious1.125 Gm Injection is classified as an antibacterial agent and is used to treat a variety of serious bacterial infections. It also aids in the prevention of infection during surgery. This medication works by inhibiting the growth of the bacterial cell wall, ultimately killing the bacteria.
This medication is used to treat infections caused by susceptible strains of Pseudomonas, Proteus, Escherichia coli, and Enterobacter, as well as septicemia, acute and chronic respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and urinary tract infections. It is also active against some streptococci and anaerobic bacteria.
This medication is not recommended for people who are allergic to penicillin or other cephalosporin antibiotics. If you are taking a tetracycline antibiotic, avoid using it.
Some medications may interact with it, so tell your doctor if you’re taking anything else.
If you are: Consult your doctor before taking the medication.
Neuromuscular hypersensitivity (agitation, hallucinations, asterixis, encephalopathy, confusion, and seizures) and electrolyte imbalance with potassium or sodium salts, particularly in renal failure, are symptoms of penicillin overdose.
Hemodialysis may be useful in removing the drug from the blood; otherwise, most treatment is supportive or symptomatic. This medication is not absorbed orally and must be administered by a healthcare professional via intramuscular or intravenous injection.
If you are being treated for a sexually transmitted disease, your partner must also be treated. Small frequent meals, frequent mouth care, sucking lozenges, or chewing gum can all help with nausea and dry mouth.
This medication may interfere with oral contraceptives; a different method of birth control should be used. Report persistent diarrhoea, fever, chills, unhealed sores, bloody urine or stool, muscle pain, mouth sores, or breathing difficulty.
